Finn was tapping and tilting the screen like a seasoned veteran to count with Jinja the cat, sort objects and silhouettes with Harvey the dog and identify sounds with Robin the bird. It proved a great mini distraction and a good, age-appropriate intro into the portable gaming world.

Sage and Savvy
The apps definitely hold a preschooler’s interest on short car trips and shopping excursions. Plus the characters are pretty darn cute and the price is right.

All three apps have fun colourful graphics. The layout is very clean, no cluttered background images, which makes it easy for young kids to concentrate on the task at hand, having fun.
Another Day, Another Thought
Some things come masquerading as kid products even though they’re really designed for mums. Like Tickle Tap Apps. It’s easy to forget crayons but you’ve almost always got your phone on you.
Yoyomama
What stands out about these mini games are their simple and elegant creative direction. The uncomplicated, yet powerful design allows young preschool-aged kids to feel in total control and not get bogged down with too many options.

These apps are simple, cute, fun and funny, without being obnoxiously colorful or noisy, or over the top in the design scheme.
Mama Hall

These are great games to have handy for those times you might need to keep younger kids occupied, for instance while traveling or waiting at the doctor’s office. Definitely worth a try.

Sound Shaker
I love how creative this is. The sound is wonderful too, not tinny and annoying to your ears (which is good because your kids will be playing this for a long time).
Another Day, Another Thought
Sound Shaker is almost like an interactive art installation, mixing shapes, sounds and interaction beautifully.

Count Caddy
Kids will have fun learning to count by ones, twos and threes using Count Caddy. Very effective because it uses three senses: sight, sound and touch.
iPhone Life
My kid’s favorite is Count Caddy. A very simple and straightforward app. . .The drawing is neat and clean against a solid color background which in my opinion helps concentration.

Sort Slider
The artwork is adorable! Graham really gets a kick out of Sort Slider mostly because it is easy for him and because he can use the phone in a different way than his other iPhone games.
Go Graham Go!

Color Collector
I downloaded Color Collector and Sound Shaker yesterday and had lots of fun with my 3-year-old son. He got a real kick out of having the colours of his clothes recognized and spoken to him.
